Wilderness Part 10: “You shall not curse them, Balaam, for they are blessed.”

Numbers 22-24 tells the story of how Balak, king of Moab and Balaam, pagan diviner extraordinaire set out to curse the nation of Israel and how God proves his blessing irrevocable. This brilliantly-told comedy (featuring a talking ass) is another unfamiliar-but-central story that once again affirms that God’s promises cannot be thwarted.
