On Pentecost Sunday we remember the Holy Spirit being sent into the newly-forming Church, enabling them to speak in other languages and take the good news of Jesus Christ far beyond Jerusalem. We, the Church today, are the recipients of this good news – and we receive the same Spirit. The Spirit guides us into love, which is what this story, Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan, illuminates for us. May we have ears to hear.
